The Monterey Bay Community Power Authority (“MBCP”) seeks a primary consultant or team of consultants to deliver an electrification strategic plan, and 5-year program road map, covering Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito and San Luis Obispo Counties, designed to prioritize GHG emission reductions while driving local economic development, innovation and affordable, reliable electricity rates


Microgrid SmartConnect Program (Site Host Application)

Due by May 10, 2019

Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) is launching the Microgrid SmartConnect Program to develop and own microgrid projects in MBCP’s service territory that support local economic development and provide an expedient and resilient power supply for MBCP’s customers.


Joint CCA Renewable Power Supply RFP

Due by May 17, 2019

Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) and Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) offer the Joint Request for Proposals for Carbon-Free Power Supply (“Joint RFP) for Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS).   Combined MBCP and SVCE are seeking up to 800,000 MWh of annual carbon-free energy to help achieve RPS and reliability needs.   Deliveries to start as early as January 1, 2021, but no later than December 31, 2022 and for a minimum term of ten (10) years.

Carbon-Free Power RFP

Due by March 15, 2019

The Monterey Bay Community Power Authority (“MBCP”) seeks to acquire up to 800,000 annual MWh of Energy and  the associated Environmental Attributes, Capacity Products, or Ancillary Products from generators in the state of California.


Joint CCA Resource Adequacy Portfolio Management Services

Due by March 11, 2019

East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP), Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE), San Jose Clean Energy (SJCE), and Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE), (collectively, the “Joint CCAs”), are requesting proposals from service providers to provide Joint CCA RA Portfolio Management Services for annual and monthly Resource Adequacy (RA) procurement. The Joint CCAs are seeking this Joint CCA RA Portfolio Management Services to obtain economies of scale by aggregating each CCA’s RA obligations, minimizing market inefficiencies and eliminating the extraordinary amount of time spent by each CCA on satisfying their year-ahead and month-ahead RA obligations.


Car Dealership RFP

The Monterey Bay Community Power Authority (“MBCP”) is seeking qualified dealerships selling or leasing battery electric vehicles (EVs) to partner with their respective auto manufacturer and submit proposals for a time-limited, discounted electric vehicle purchase program.

Website Redesign RFP

Due by 11/29/18

Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) seeks to improve its website design and is seeking qualified web/design agencies to submit proposals for a website redesign project. MBCP prefers local agencies and is open to receiving proposals from agencies outside MBCP’s service area.  


EV Program Administrator RFP

Due by 11/20/18

Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) is developing programs to incentivize the adoption of electric vehicles. MBCP requests information about your company’s experience and qualifications relating to the administration of the electric vehicle promotion and incentive programs as described in this Request for Proposals.


Go Local RFO

Due By August 1, 2018

Monterey Bay Community Power has issued an RFO to receive proposals for the development of local renewable generation, with or without storage, located within Monterey Bay Community Power’s Tri-County service territory (Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey).  The goal of the RFO is to increase local renewable generation and promote economic vitality for the Tri-County area.


Carbon Free Energy with Storage

Due By September 15, 2017

Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP), along with SVCE, solicited offers for Carbon Free Energy with Storage.

The goal of this Joint RFO was for SVCE and MBCP to each enter into one or more long-term Power Purchase and Sale Agreements (PPAs) to secure up to 700 GWh per year of energy, combined, from Carbon Free generation facilities.  For Solar PV generating facilities to bid into this RFO, the offer had to contain an Energy Storage Facility.
